What sort of Financial Assistance is available?
BDMS provides financial assistance via KidSport, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and Athletics for Kids. BDMS also offers financial assistance to those players that would otherwise be unable to participate on a Burnaby District metro soccer team. Click here for more information on financial assistance.
How do I know if my daughter or son has been asked to attend an Invitational Evaluation?
All athletes participating in BDMS player evaluations will be contacted by e-mail indicating whether or not they have been asked to attend an invitational evaluation.
If you do not receive an e-mail message, please check your spam folder as often times mail is filtered incorrectly. If you do not receive an e-mail message, please e-mail evaluations@bbydistrictmetrosoccer.com.
I have seen different versions of the player evaluation schedule, how do I know which is correct?
The most recent and up to date version of the player evaluation schedule is always posted on the evaluations page of our website. You can always compare the version number and date posted on the evaluation schedule PDF file with the version number and post date on our evaluations page.
I've heard that District is just running this program for one year, 2015 - 16. Is that correct?
District intends to continue to operate the program as a single, District-wide model beyond 2015 - 16.
Teams have been run by clubs in the past. Why is District now running teams?
There have been different views in the soccer community around best structure. The District board, comprised of directors appointed or elected by the member clubs, agreed that a single District-wide model is better than having various clubs run teams. There was no consensus on any single club operating the teams, so the decision was taken to operate the teams directly by District, primarily through a committee, with all clubs invited to participate in the program's operation and oversight. District believes that with the participation and support of all the "feeder" clubs, the program will be as strong and integrated as possible.
How many U13 teams will be formed?
We anticipate one team each for boys and girls.
