Concussions

A concussion is a very serious head injury, and it's important to understand not only what a concussion is, but the protocols that are put in place with respect to a return to play.

Return to Play Guidelines for the Coach/Trainer and Athlete
A resource for BDMS coaches and trainers for dealing with a suspected concussion.
BDMS coaches are expected to implement a return to play process as outlined in these guidelines.

BDMS athletes are expected to abide by these guidelines working towards a return to play from a suspected concussion.
Canada Soccer Concussion Guidelines
Guidelines on dealing with concussions by the Canada Soccer Sports Medicine Committee.
Player Concussion Code of Conduct
BDMS Athletes are expected to abide by the Player Concussion Code of Conduct as outlined in the above link.
CATT: Concussion Awareness Training Tool
The CATT website is an excellent training tool for coaches, parents and athletes to learn about concussions and concussion management.

Criminal Record Check

BDMS follows and adheres to the BC Soccer Criminal Record Check Policy.

We require all adult coaches and volunteers to submit a Criminal Records Check (CRC) in order to work with our youth athletes. The CRC is valid for 3 years, and must be renewed prior to it's expiration.

Severe Weather
